Parents and Pupils Learning Together
Birch class' science topic for Spring 1 was 'Habitats'
As part of this topic, Birch class took part in the annual RSPB 'Big Garden Birdwatch', for their home learning - They logged the birds that they saw in their gardens. They also joined the 'Big School's Birdwatch' and submitted school observations.
To compliment the learning our Key stage Two science teacher Mrs Deal, invited parents/carers to come into school and join their children with their science learning.
We are pleased to say that many of our parents made the event which gave them a chance to share their science knowledge and understanding with their children and delve through the children's books to see what they have learnt previously. Parents also got the chance to see Birch class' ants in the habitats they had set up for them in the classroom!

It was a very successful afternoon that we hope to repeat in other year groups and with other subjects in the near future.
