What we have been learning

On Monday 5th December Willow class visited West Suffolk College's Animal Welfare Unit at Newmarket Academy.

The students there had organised some exciting activities for the children which linked in with our science topic looking at the human life cycle.  We had recently compared the gestation periods of other animals with humans in class and were keen to meet the animals and help care for them!

Making enrichment Christmas treat toys for the rabbits.

Feeding Hamish the hedgehog (who is omnivorous)  meal worms and banana.

The rabbits enjoying their enrichment toys

Making Christmas tree treats for the guinea pigs

Learning how to handle animals correctly

The finished guinea pig tree - which went down a treat!
