Welcome to Aspen Team (KS1)

with Mrs Mountford (class teacher),

Mrs Smith, Miss Baldwin & Mrs Sheppard (Teaching Assistants)

In Aspen Class we love to learn!

Our learning aims to inspire, motivate and excite our children's imaginations.

We believe strongly that education is a precious gift and that it is important we give the children in our care the opportunity to enjoy their time with us whilst striving to be the best they can be. When the children leave our class, we hope to have given them a love and passion for learning which will stay with them their whole lives!

Key Skills

Please see spellings which are needed throughout KS1.

Focus Spellings to learn are given on an individual basis (around 3-5 per week) and can be found in their personal reading record.  These spellings are checked daily within lesson times and once embedded will be replaced with new words to learn.  Initially, the spellings will relate to the most common words (high frequency words).

When it comes to times tables, speed AND accuracy are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations.

Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help pupils master the times tables!  All children in KS1 will be given a login to access this resource!

Here are extra resources which may support children also.
