Committed to Sport
Our school may be small but we can still achieve big things!
Sainsbury's School Games Mark
The Sainsbury's School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.
Kennett Primary School has been awarded the Bronze School Games Mark and Silver Games Mark.
Annelise, Maria, Jacob, Abi, Mathew and Ethan make up our sports crew for 2017-18. They play a fundamental role in shaping and developing the School Games. Supported by Mrs Sheppard, our crew join together to lead the planning and delivery of school sport clubs and intra school competitions.
Our Sports Crew are also Bronze Ambassadors, promoting the Sports Mark Values. These are:
Keep an eye on the Sports display board, inside the main entrance of school, as sports news is updated regularly - even when our pupils take part in sport outside of school!
Summer 2014 Mrs Taylor won a bid that she put into Sport England for an activity area on our playground. In the Autumn of 2014, the activity area arrived! This has helped us to create focused spaces on our playground for different sport activities.
26th April 2019 - Birch class Tennis and Tri-Golf Festival
In this picture, the back row in yellow T shirts took part in the LTA 2019 Schools Tennis competition. The A Team narrowly missed out on going to compete in the Suffolk finals. The B Team came in 2nd position. All children played so well and were a credit to our school.. Maybe Wimbledon next!
The front row of children participated in the year 3 and 4 Tri-Golf Festival at Ely Hockey Club. It was hard work but lots of fun which bought to light a few budding golf stars of the future! We are super proud of you all!
