Welcome to Oak Class of 2019-20
(Years 5 & 6)
In Oak class we aim to consolidate the learning which has taken place from the beginning of the children's school journey. We focus on promoting the skills of LORIC which stands for Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication which will be built upon further as they move into secondary school and in their future lives.
The children take on responsibilities such as being a buddy for the children in the reception class, being a member of the sports crew, school house team captains and chair and secretary of school council.
In order to broaden their personal development we endeavour to participate in a wide range of activities outside of school such as the STEM day at SVC, maths challenges, taking part in local sports competitions and helping our local community.
We provide a rich and creative curriculum to inspire and encourage a life long love of learning.
Mr Michael Hallett, Mrs Jackie Deal, Ms Fiona Parkes and Mrs Tina Cole.
Home Learning whilst children are not in School
We know there is a lot on this timetable. We would rather give you plenty of ideas with how to structure your days than not give you enough. Feel free to swap any activities around and try them to the best of your ability. We know that some of these might be a bit tricky but please don’t worry, just do what you can. At least aim for some reading, writing and maths each day, whatever that may be.
You being happy and making the most of this time with your family is what is most important at this time. And if you really are stuck or you just want some advice, you can message us on Class Dojo. Send us a message and let us know how you are getting on. We would love to hear from you.
Daily Lessons start Monday 20th April - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize
