Dear Parents and Carers,

I very much hope that this letter finds you and your families safe and well.

I am sure that you, like us, are really looking forward to school resuming next term but may have some concerns; this is perfectly natural and we hope to be able to support all our families in the best way we can through these upcoming times.

I would like to personally thank all our families for your support throughout the whole lockdown period and very much appreciate all that you have done, working in partnership with us to support our pupils. I also would like to say a big thank you for all the contributions that were received to give Mrs Taylor a wonderful send off. It was greatly appreciated and she certainly merited it and will be missed.

We are now looking forward to ensuring Kennett Primary continues to flourish and keen to welcome all our new families along with our new headteacher, Mr Scott Horsley, to continue to lead our wonderful little school with his expertise.

We have been very busy behind the scenes making the school as welcoming and as safe as possible for the children upon their return. Please do find attached a Parent Covid Handbook that we hope will answer many of your questions.

On that note, we will fulfil the Government’s expectation that "all pupils, in all year groups, will return to school".

We do hope our plans will strike the right balance between mitigating the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and delivering an excellent education for all our pupils and we can’t wait to see our children back!

Finally, if you have any concerns or queries regarding the Parent Covid Handbook, then in the first instance, please do send a private email to me on

Warmest Wishes,

Mrs Michelle Mountford
Assistant Headteacher

Home Learning

Your child’s learning is important to us, so during the closure we’ll continue to support pupils by setting learning tasks.  The learning tasks and timetable will be on the school website by Friday afternoon and parents can contact teachers via Class Dojo to ask any questions or celebrate any work that the children have done.

Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and mental health is something that we take very seriously.  Please visit our Emotional Health and Wellbeing page for useful information that can be accessed to help and inform you of ways in which you can support your child at home.
